WASHINGTON, DC—Today, Sojourners named Sandi Villarreal as the publication’s new Executive Editor. Sandi, with eight years of experience at Sojourners leading the web team, will lead Sojourners’ dynamic brand of Christian social justice news and commentary. Sandi will continue her focus on growing Sojourners’ readership and further expand our voice and strengthen Sojourners’ talented team of writers, editors, videographers, and strategists.
“After watching Sandi lead and grow a team that has expanded the reach of our message to millions, I know she is equipped to serve as our Executive Editor,” said Rev. Jim Wallis, Founder and President of Sojourners. “We need a deeply faith grounded, progressive Christian voice now more than ever and I trust Sandi to strengthen that voice on our platforms and beyond.”
“It is imperative that we continue to elevate the diversity of voices speaking and acting from their faith on issues of justice,” said Rev. Adam Taylor, Executive Director of Sojourners. “I’m confident that Sandi will continue to lead us in this commitment through 2020 and beyond.”
