Tomorrow is the autumnal equinox and, with its coming, summer officially ends. I have greatly enjoyed these "Summer Sundays" postings and, even more, the letters and e-mails that have resulted. I'll be moving, 5 October 2008, to explorefaith.net, where I'll be posting "First Sundays" blogs on the first Sunday of each month for the next year or so, God willing.
Looking back over the last four months, I have come to realize that "Summer Sundays" has been as much about storytelling as it has anything else. I constantly say that I am basically a storyteller; but I don't think I ever really understood the accuracy of that self-definition until I looked back over what has happened here. If this last summer is any indicator, I am in very fact a storyteller; and so, I asked myself, if that be true, why not one more story? Why not one last hurrah before summer's end?
This one is not so much a story as a record of one of the most informing experiences of our life as a family on a small farm. The Farm In Lucy is not really a farm anymore
