It was a Decemberof golden daysand crisp, sparkling nights.I saw swooping pelicansand Orion's belt, bright blooming aloeand holiday lights downtown. Now that the brittle, shedding Christmas treeis down by the streetand the ornaments have all been put away,I flip through pictures of beach walksand parties and presents opened and sunsets. Most beautiful are the blues —an azure sky,the inky oceanruffled by an offshore wind,andindigo-purple musselsholding fast to the rocks.
