I am an RN who practiced in hospital delivery for 10 years. Many medical professionals share your dislike for the scheduled C-section movement ("Unto Us a Child is Given," by Susan Windley-Daoust; "Reclaiming Childbirth," by Shafia M. Monroe, December 2010). But this is just one symptom of a society where physicians must continually base medical decisions on protecting themselves from lawsuits. I've also witnessed many crisis situations in which mother and/or baby would have died without the expert medical intervention that could only happen in the hospital setting.
Your glorifying "natural" childbirth and demonizing "the medical establishment" is out of character for an organization that claims the role of peacemaker.
