THIS IS REGARDING the book The Bible, Violence and the Sacred by James G. Williams, which was reviewed in the August 1993 Sojourners. After reading the review, I got my copy and read it--but I read it from a woman/feminist point of view.
Though I agree with the majority of what Prof. Williams put forth, he all but ignores those who are the subject of a great deal of "scapegoating"--females. The ignoring and suppressing of women's history (herstory) is much too common in "religious" and "theological" books written by men.
